Park Lane Gymnastics Club was established in Blairgowrie, Johannesburg in 2007 by head coach, Hana Drewe. Hana is from Czech Republic, where she coached gymnastics in the city of Brno before emmigrating to the
United Kingdom, where she concentrated on teaching development classes for pre-schooled children. Having lived in South Africa since 1994, Hana has coached gymnastics in Newcastle, East
London, Durban and Johannesburg prior establishing Park Lane Gymnastics Club.
Park Lane Gymnastics Club started with 14 children and has grown steadily since, with gymnasts from the club having taken part in competitions from as early as 2008. The Club is affiliated with the South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF)
About the Classes
Classes are focussed - maximum 10 gymnasts per class.
Recreational classes are held twice per week in one hour sessions.
Petit classes (3-5 years) are held once per week in 30 minute sessions.
Children hoping to join competition classes are to undergo evaluation before being accepted for these classes.
Fees are charged per term and are payable at the beginning of each term.
Children will be excluded from classes if fees are unpaid.
Parents should not try to coach their child unless they are a member of the
club’s coaching team!
